The seventh-grade football team is a program where we learn how to play football and work as a team. Playing for the Mules gives us a chance to represent our school and get better at something we enjoy. This season, we have learned about football, but we have also learned about working hard and not giving up.

Football is a contact sport, so getting used to being hit is part of learning how to play. Our coaches do not have us start tackling on the first day. Instead, we start the season with acclimation, which means slowly getting used to practice, the equipment, and the contact. This helps us get ready before we start playing in games.

At first, we wear just a helmet and do simple drills like catching the ball. Then we put on pads and do some light contact, but we still do not tackle. Finally, we put on full pads and start tackling. There is a big difference between catching a ball during a drill and trying to catch it during a game.

Coach Wilson said everybody has improved since the first day of practice. There are a lot of things to remember when you play football. You have to know where to line up, what your job is, and what play you are running. It takes practice to learn everything, and you have to pay attention when the coaches are explaining something.

One of the hardest parts of the season has been the heat. Coach Wilson said it has been the hardest part of practice. He also said the heat in games showed who could hold up in it. It can be hard to focus when it is hot outside and you are tired. That makes practice more challenging.

The Mules have had a great season with one game left. The A team is still undefeated, which is something to be proud of. Winning every game does not mean the last game will be easy. We still have to come to practice ready to listen and work. We want to finish the season strong.

The B team lost to Lopez by one touchdown, and the white team lost to Dobie. Losing is never fun, especially when you are close to winning. It is easy to think about what could have gone differently. But after a loss, you have to get ready for the next game and keep trying to improve.

We have had several challenges this season, but the biggest one was the game against Lopez. Games like that show why all the little things in practice matter. One play can make a big difference in a close game. You cannot go back and change a play, so you have to focus on what comes next.

Football also teaches us that one person cannot do everything. Even if someone makes a great play, other players have jobs that help make it happen. Everyone has to do their part. Being a good
