At Alamo Heights Junior School, the Animal Appreciation Club is made up of amazing students who are passionate about animals. As one student shared, “It is important because most people get cats and dogs as pets, but it’s good to appreciate small animals like guinea pigs and hamsters.”
Although this is only the club’s first year, it has made great progress thanks to the efforts of Ms. Stone, the club’s organizer. She commented, “It was a great choice for an interest group.”
There are many ways you can support the Animal Appreciation Club. Students are encouraged to bring their small animals, including guinea pigs, hamsters, and even dogs and cats. Ms. Stone explains, “If anyone has a small animal and would love to introduce it to the club, that would be very helpful.”
The students at Alamo Heights Junior School play a key role in the club’s success. Ms. Stone says, “They come up with a lot of ideas, like making posters, adding content to Google Classroom, and they’re just a huge help.”
If you’re interested in joining the Animal Appreciation Club, head over to Ms. Stone’s classroom (Room 107) in the main building. The club meets after school on Fridays, and everyone is welcome to participate.
