The Sixth Grade Dance is an annual event held at Alamo Heights Junior School that brings together the sixth graders for a fun time. “The 6th Grade Dance is a way for 6th graders to come and interact with each other, while also having fun with friends,” says Mrs. Brady, the main advocate in helping organize the dance.
The school dance wouldn’t happen without the generous donations and volunteers. “The dance happens because of our school’s PTO, who help by donating hundreds of dollars, which help make the dance happen. Another way the dance happens is through the Student Council, who help budget the dance,” Mrs. Brady says enthusiastically.
The school dance offers many activities to keep students busy and ensure they have a blast! “The 6th grade dance involves fun activities such as a photo booth station run by Mrs. Lopez, a DJ station run by Mr. Miller, and a wonderful snack station run by PTO volunteers.”
Each school year, many sixth graders attend the dance to have an enjoyable time. “The dance usually hosts about 250-300 students per year and is held in the cafeteria because it’s big enough for all the people that usually come.”
Additionally, “The dance is held on February 13, the day before Valentine’s Day, so that’s why it’s called the 6th Grade Valentine’s Dance.”
In conclusion, the 6th Grade Dance is the perfect event for sixth graders to enjoy time with their friends! There will be so many exciting activities to enjoy.
