In the spirit of generosity and community, students and parents can attend Springfest and support the PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization). Springfest will take place on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Alamo Heights Junior School.

Springfest is a highly anticipated event featuring numerous attractions. In an interview, Mrs. Alexander, one of the event organizers and the academic dean at the Junior School, said, “We’ll have food—there will be food trucks. They’ve had burgers before. There may be Kona Ice. Yes, there’ll be lots of food—pizza, drinks, candy, all of that stuff. There will also be games, a bounce house, silly string—things like that. Kind of like a carnival.”

Rides will cost five tickets, while inflatables and games will range from two to five tickets each. As previously mentioned, food will be available for purchase for one to five tickets per item, including burgers, cotton candy, popcorn, pizza, and candy. However, if you want an all-inclusive experience, you can purchase an “Action Pass Wristband,” which includes unlimited access to mechanical rides and inflatables, such as Uproar, Tubs of Fun, the Obstacle Course, Wrecking Ball, and more! If you just want to hang out with friends, that’s completely free. A special perk this year is that 8th graders will be released from class early to enjoy Springfest before the 6th and 7th graders join the fun.

Pre-orders available at www.ahjspto.org closed at midnight on Monday, March 24. These orders will be distributed to students in advisory on Friday, March 28. In-person wristbands and ticket sales will be available during lunch on Thursday, March 27, and all day on Friday, March 28—before school, at lunch, and at Springfest.

Springfest serves as a fundraiser for the PTO, with all proceeds directly benefiting classrooms. When asked about the impact of Springfest, Mrs. Alexander explained, “The profits from Springfest go back into things that help support teachers—whether it’s Amazon gift cards, buying supplies, funding curriculum grants, or doing nice things for our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week.” Last year, Springfest raised approximately $40,000 for teachers and staff at the Junior School.

So if you’re looking for something to do on March 28, or if you were unsure about attending Springfest before, now there’s no excuse—come join the fun!
