Join Us for Mulch Mania: Transforming Alamo Heights Junior School Together

by Max M. and Peter S.

Mulch Mania is a school tradition that has been going on for three years. People from around Alamo Heights come together to plant new plants and place mulch around the Junior School campus. Let’s take a deep dive into what Mulch Mania will look like this year!

Mulch Mania was started by Principal Dr. Guthrie in 2022. It has been great each year, and every year we want to keep making it better and better. For Mulch Mania to be a success, it requires some work—but while doing this, you can spend time with your friends and have fun with it. Dr. Guthrie says, “This is a bigger project than just getting mulch.” And Jack Schneider says, “It’s a great day to spend time with friends.” Mulch Mania is a big project where they plant fresh mulch around the Junior School, but you can also have a great time.

Students say, “I am looking forward to attending Mulch Mania this year.” Even though Mulch Mania may sound boring, we at Alamo Heights make it a great time. One of the great things we do at Mulch Mania is make our school look a lot better than it was before. Dr. Guthrie says, “It makes our school look nice and good.” Alamo Heights encourages you to come to Mulch Mania. Jack Schneider says, “I think Mulch Mania is worth it, it’s a great experience.” Mulch Mania has made everyone happier, made the school look better, and helped Alamo Heights come together as one. We would love to see you there.

Mulch Mania has been a great event for the Alamo Heights community these last couple of years. We are looking forward to making this one the best one yet. Can’t wait to see you and all of your friends supporting the AH community on April 22nd at the Junior School.
