The last school week is coming soon. It is the last week of the school year, and we are all happy and sad at the same time. Even though we can’t wait to go on summer vacation, we also take some time thinking about what we have learned throughout the year and the friends we have made. During this week, we will be taking some tests, having some fun, and saying goodbye to teachers and friends.

Over these last few days, the school is different—more relaxed, yet more special. Classrooms are filled with excitement as we play educational games, watch relevant movies, and engage in special activities for the end of the year. “8th graders will have their graduation, which is one of my favorite things,” said AHJS Vice Principal Mr. Saldana. Others will celebrate this amazing year with fun end-of-year celebrations. It’s a great opportunity for all of us to come together and celebrate the memories we’ve made this year—whether it was acing a tough test, laughing at jokes at lunch, or just hanging out.

Teachers also pause to reflect, giving words of encouragement on how far students have come. During the final week, we will be signing our yearbooks and trying to enjoy the last few days of school that we have remaining.

Whether you can’t wait for vacation or you’re going to miss a great year, there’s no doubt that the last week of school is a mix of emotions that we’ll carry long after the final bell rings.
