The Alamo Heights Junior School Book Fair raised a grand total of $2,500. “These funds will go to books for the library and other activities throughout the school,” said librarian Ms. Chasse.
AHJS librarian Ms. Chasse added, “I think the book fair brings classes together, and it’s fun to pick out new books to read. Also, the book fair is great for kids to discover books they have never seen or read before.” The book fair featured the latest books from Scholastic.

The book fair sold $10,000 worth of products, including books, pencils, and posters. The most sold author at the book fair was Alan Gratz, who writes historical fiction. “Some of his most popular ones are Grenade and Ground Zero,” said Mrs. Chasse.
A ton of Alan Gratz’s bestsellers were at the book fair. “The book fair is fun for most kids, it’s a fundraiser for the school, and it gives students a break from regular classes. Also, I think kids just enjoy shopping,” said Mrs. Chasse.
The next book fair is scheduled for February 18th–21st in the library. AHJS and Mrs. Chasse are excited and planning for it to be even better. “I can’t wait for the next one,” said Mrs. Chasse.
