Alamo Heights is excited to welcome back the WorldStrides trip for its second year. Since 2020, the WorldStrides summer trip was paused due to the pandemic, but thankfully, it’s back and better than ever. Here’s why:

The Cause of It Leaving

Alamo Heights loved participating in the WorldStrides trip, but it had to stop in 2020 due to the pandemic. The school didn’t bring it back immediately after, and last year was the first time the trip was resumed since the pandemic. They went to Washington, D.C., but this year they are planning a trip to New York City, and everyone is looking forward to it.

Why Alamo Heights Is Bringing the WorldStrides Trip Back

The trip was reintroduced because it is considered a core memory for 8th graders. Many adults who went on the trip during their own school years remember it as a significant and fun part of their 8th-grade experience. Alamo Heights wants to continue this tradition and provide students with memorable experiences.

Why It Is Important

The WorldStrides trip is especially important because it is designed for 8th graders who study world history in their classes. Visiting historical sites they learn about in school brings their lessons to life, making it a valuable and educational experience.

How Are You Going to Pay?

Funding for the trip will be supported by Alamo Heights, but each student will need to cover their own expenses. There will be discounted prices for the students, such as reduced admission fees to museums and half-price transportation and meals since the trip is organized through the school.
