Unfortunately, Ms. Sharp had to leave, so the Board of Trustees chose a new board member, Mr. Kingman.
“He has a lot of experience with past boards, and it’s because of his big heart for the district and his willingness to serve,” Dr. Bashara said enthusiastically. She was very pleased with the trustees’ decision. “I think he has a lot to contribute to the board,” Dr. Bashara shared. She is very excited to see what he can contribute to our community.
“Knowing the board, they’re probably looking for someone who has a big heart for all of the kids and has shown dedication to the district for several years,” Dr. Alfaro explained. His dedication to the school and genuine care for the students make him an excellent fit for the position.
“I think it’s because he’s from the district. He was a great student in high school, and he has kids in the district now. His father was on the school board at one time, so both he and his family have shown a commitment to public service, especially in this district,” Mr. Alfaro stated. This connection to the school is important because it shows the dedication and commitment Mr. Kingman has for the district.
“The school board voted for Mr. Kingman to be the new board member. I think they chose him because he has very good credentials, and he’s done a lot of development work in his professional career. He’s also worked with many boards in his professional career,” Mr. Hornberger explained. His credentials, development work, and past board experience are qualifications the board is looking for.
“I think it will be successful for sure because we already have a great group of trustees. He works well with all of them, so they’ll get along really well and challenge each other with questions. They’re going to push each other to find the right answer,” Mr. Hornberger shared. His ability to work well with the trustees was definitely a factor in their decision to select him.
Overall, Mr. Kingman will be a perfect fit for our school and community. He has great energy and a big heart for all of the students. He’s going to do many great things for Alamo Heights.
