The 7th-grade volleyball team has just completed an exciting season filled with growth, teamwork, and determination. From the very first practice to the last set, the team showed incredible sportsmanship and dedication. They have been constantly improving their skills, building strong bonds, and always cheering for each other both on and off the court.

Even though the whole season was incredible, the best part was at the very end. “The best part of the season was at the end when I got to see everything come together that we had been working hard on,” Coach Jupe shared enthusiastically.

“This season was memorable because I had a team that showed up every day, was coachable, listened, and understood the job, and that just made it more fun all around,” Coach Jupe elaborated. This season was a great group that all got along well, and the whole team was made up of hard workers who wanted to be there every day.

The team developed their skills greatly throughout the season, even though they didn’t win. “I would say each team showed great improvement, which I am so proud of,” said Coach Tacker.

Coach Tacker went on to say, “They put a lot of work into practice and the season,” which made it so rewarding when the gold and blue teams did so well in the end-of-season tournament.

Alamo Heights student and Gold Team member Kalli Powell agrees with Coach Tacker on this topic. “I think we improved a lot, even though we didn’t win any games this season,” she said.

Despite not winning, students tried out for volleyball to be part of a team, learn new skills, and challenge themselves. Blue Team player Kendall Isaacs says, “I played club before, so I wanted to play with friends at school.” Sports are a great way to build bonds, and Kendall jumped on the opportunity to play volleyball with friends at school.

The seventh-grade volleyball team didn’t always feel like family. Another Gold Team member, Emery Brown, says, “I think that we started a little distant, but by the end, we were like family.”

The seventh-grade volleyball season was a rewarding experience for all the players. Throughout the season, the team demonstrated impressive teamwork, perseverance, and skill development. While there were challenges along the way, the players worked hard to support each other and build lasting friendships.
