Writing is one of the most important tools you can have in your toolbox. That is why it is one of the most focused-on subjects at the Junior School. But some students like to go above and beyond, and that is where the Junior School Quills come in. The Junior School Quill Club is a club held in Mr. Campbell’s class that allows students to refine their writing skills.

Although the Junior School Quills are held in Mr. Campbell’s class, it is not run by him. “I don’t run the show,” Mr. Campbell explains. He later states that he doesn’t need to interfere much and that his students lead most of the club time. “The Quills get to decide what they want to write,” he says. “It allows them to explore themselves.”

Most writing in your life will be done alone. However, Quill offers opportunities to write with friends. “Every now and then they [the JS Quills] will write together,” says Mr. Campbell. Writing in a group allows different opportunities and can introduce you to different writing techniques and styles that can improve your writing skills in many different ways.

Joining the Quills is one of the best things a Junior School student can do to progress their writing skills. The JS Quill Club allows students to further their writing skills and have fun while doing so. It is no wonder the JS Quill Club is a fan favorite at the Junior School.
