The tennis season is coming to an end, and it was an excellent season for every team, with lots of improvement. Most teams were genuinely dominant, winning almost every match while having loads of fun. Seventh-grade tennis player Clark Christian stated, “Overall, it was very fun—the practices, the games, and even tryouts.”

The seventh-grade girls went undefeated, losing only one match the entire year. Seventh-grade player Valyn Pfullmann said, “The season went well, we won a lot, and just playing tennis with my friends was really fun.” When asked about the team’s star player, she said, “It’s really close, but Victoria is our singles 1 player (the number one spot on the team), so probably her.”

Just like the girls, the seventh-grade boys also went undefeated. Seventh-grade player Cooper Hoyt commented, “The whole season was great. I love tennis, and getting to warm up with my buddies in the morning was awesome.” According to Clark, Cooper was the team’s star player. Clark said, “Cooper is the best by far. He’s basically unbeatable.”

The eighth-grade girls were dominant too, losing only a couple of close games. Julia Gerlein mentioned, “Tennis was fun. My doubles partner was nice, and I had a good time.” According to Julia, the eighth-grade girls’ star player was Petra Mysliwiec. She said that Petra played more than everyone else on the team.

The eighth-grade boys had another winning season, winning every single tournament. Jack Schnieder said, “The best part was honestly just playing tennis. I like that it’s an active sport and you’re able to be the main person.” Their team’s star player, according to Jack, was Cooper Fordham. Jack mentioned, “His all-around game is good. His serve is good, his forehands and backhands are good too.”

Everyone I interviewed said that they enjoyed playing tennis this season. They also told me that they improved a good amount throughout the season. Players like Clark, who had only played a few times before, and players like Cooper, who have been lifelong tennis players, all said the same thing—they had a great tennis season.
