The girls’ soccer team is nearing the end of their season. So far, they are undefeated and want to keep it that way. They have had countless memories and good times from this season. We like to go over the amazing things that have happened this season. From favorite teammates to practices to great memories, here is a full recap of the girls’ soccer season.
Soccer is a team sport, but you may like some more than others. To be someone’s favorite teammate, you must fit a certain criteria. For Adele Hamilton, she went for longevity: “My favorite teammate is probably Mary Wesley because we’ve played together for the longest.” When you play with someone for a while, you build a lot of chemistry, and that’s exactly what Adele and Mary Wesley did. Another criterion players may have is their connection with each other. For Emily Jones, this was exactly the case: “My favorite teammate is Adele because we have a handshake when we go out on the field.” It’s safe to say you like everybody on your team, but you may like some more than others.
Soccer games are fun, but the practices may not be—but you have to do them to get better. There are a lot of things to work on at practice, but for Adele Hamilton, she went with repetition: “Usually we do a lot of drills.” Drills may not be the most fun, but they get the job done and help you improve your weaknesses. Like I said earlier, there are a lot of things to work on at practice. For Emily Jones, she talked about improving: “We do drills, and we do stuff to prepare us for a game, and we work on shooting and corners.” From these responses, I think we can say practices are very important and are a key factor in getting better and getting prepared for games.
Soccer is an amazing sport, and you have to have a reason why you decided to play it. For Emily Jones, she explained her love for the sport: “I decided to play this year because I’ve always played soccer, and it’s always been my favorite sport.” When you play any sport for your whole life, you become in love with the sport and always want to keep playing it. There are tons of reasons why you choose soccer, but for Adele Hamilton, she went the same route as Emily: “I’ve played it my whole life.” When you play soccer for such a long time, it becomes hard not to like it. And from this, we can infer that our AH players chose soccer because it has always been with them, and they love the sport.
The Alamo Heights girls’ soccer team has had an amazing season and is still chasing the district championship. They’ve had countless memories and so much fun. We are so excited to see what comes next for our AH players—the sky’s the limit.
