Physical Night at Alamo Heights is the one time each year when the high school offers physicals to students who want to play sports. Let’s dive into the details so you’re prepared to get yours.
Why Do Students Need Physicals?
“Without a physical, you can’t play your sport,” says Ford Jones. All athletes must have a physical before their sports seasons begin, and not having one means you won’t be allowed to participate. That’s why the high school offers this opportunity—they want every athlete to be eligible for the upcoming season. As Jones reminds us, “Every student can get one.”
Where and When?
Physical Night only happens once a year. This year, it will take place on Tuesday, April 28th. All you need to bring is your physical form, which your coaches will hand out about a week before the event. “It takes place at the high school in the Sky Gym.”
Students say doctors and athletic trainers will “run a bunch of tests on you” to make sure you are physically ready to play your sport.
Getting a physical is very important—and required—for all athletes. The athletics program hopes you take advantage of this opportunity. “We hope to see you there!”
