Alamo Heights 8th Grade Football: A Season to Remember

A Memorable Season for Alamo Heights Football

The 8th grade football team at Alamo Heights Junior School had an exciting and memorable season, showing strong teamwork and great improvement. They ended the season with a record of 6–2. From the opening kickoff of the first game to the final game of the season, the team showed determination, pride in their school, and a love for the sport that brought the entire community together.

Team Goals and Achievements

The coach talked about teamwork and success. Coach Wogstad says, “We always start off with wanting to win every game and then wanting to win district. And we didn’t win all the games, and that’s really, really hard to do, and that’s when we need to go next to try and win the district, and we were really close. If we would’ve beat Lopez in that game, we would’ve played Tech Hill in the championship, which we didn’t get to do.” The coach recaps the season and talks about the team’s hopes and achievements. They ended with a great season.

A Season of Growth and Success

Alamo Heights entered the season with high hopes, but it was the players’ hard work and commitment at every practice that truly defined their success. Day by day, the team worked on their skills, strengthened their communication on the field, and built a team centered around effort and sportsmanship. Whether it was a last-minute touchdown drive, a big defensive stop, or a well-executed special teams play, the team delivered moments that kept families and fans cheering from the sidelines.

Teamwork at the Core

One of the biggest strengths of this year was the players’ commitment to the game. Eighth grader Jaden Adame talked about the team’s improvements and some of his personal improvements. He said, “I’ve been working on my stamina.” The team has all been working to hit certain goals and succeed in high school.

Morning Practices, Game Day Glory

The team has practices every morning and works hard for games. This shows their dedication and hard work. The 8th grade Alamo Heights football team had a great season, with many more to come.
